Chase is offering 25,000 points when you sign up (& are approved) for a new Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card. After you make your first purchase, you get the 25,000 point which can be redeemed for $250 cash (or gift cards, travel etc.). There’s no annual fee for the first year, and it’s $95 after that.

I did this a few years ago with their Chase Rewards card, so it’s a quick way to spend 5 minutes getting an extra $250.  If you already have pretty good credit, I’d suggest applying, and then canceling before the annual fee kicks in next year.  Note: Don’t do this if you’re getting ready to buy a house etc as it could reflect poorly on your credit rating. Also, if you have a struggling credit rating (and usually get declined) don’t apply as it will just be another inquiry against your credit.
